St. George’s online burial register

St. George’s is a portal between a life of hope on earth and life eternal beyond this life. We hope that those who peruse this register will see the evidence of life eternal contained herein.

16For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. (John 3:16)

This list makes it clear that no one knows the hour of his or her death. You will find here people who lived 90 minutes through 97 years. See not the tragedy of a short life, but of great thanksgiving for every life—we know that each person named herein lives on today.

8Now concerning death, the teaching is: When the decisive decree has gone out from the Most High that a person shall die, as the spirit leaves the body to return again to him who gave it, first of all it adores the glory of the Most High. (2 Esdras 7:78)

We believe that our Christian community is surrounded by a “cloud of saints”—those who have gone before us and borne witness to the meaning of life and death, and who are with us still. It is good to know the names of our saints.

7For whoever has died is freed from sin. 8But if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. 10The death he died, he died to sin, once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. 11So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. (Romans 6:7-11)
