Sunday, July 18 – Handbell Discovery
Are you curious about our Handbells? Want to try them out? On Sunday, July 18, following the 11:00 AM Eucharist, the Bells of St. George will hold a Handbell Discovery for anyone (ages 14 and up) interested in handbells. In this 30-minute discovery we will explore the basic ringing technique, ring different bells, and even learn a simple song. No experience is necessary. Questions can be directed to Ben Keseley, Music Director (bkeseley@saintgeorgeschurch.org).
One of the Urban Abbey listening groups is hosting a family picnic on Thursday evening, July 15, from 6:30-8:30 PM at Potomac Overlook Park. Of course, as always, all are most welcome at Urban Abbey events. If you'd like to attend, please RSVP to Laurie Lewis.
Christmas Pageant workshop 7/25
It may not feel much like Christmas outside, but it's not too early to think about it. The Worship Committee is sponsoring a workshop on how to do and not to do Christmas Pageants, entitled "Phil's Seven Keys to a Happy Christmas Pageant Experience" The Interim Rector, who has given this workshop on numerous occasions, will offer it at 10:00 AM on Sunday, July 25. The Worship Committee at its next meeting on July 28 will then discuss how best to proceed with the Christmas Pageant for this December. Any one who has any interest in the Pageant is encouraged to attend the workshop and provide the worship committee with their reactions.
