Our prayers at the start of this millennium

Remember Y2K? St. Georgians gathered on the eve of the predicted destruction of civilization, figuring that being in a church would be a good place to depart for eternity in the event of the end of the world. Besides, as we said at the time, “We have an ample supply of candles!”

On a more serious note, St. Georgians provided their prayers for the new millennium. We thought that seven years later was a good time to look at our prayers from the eve of the year 2000 to see how our prayers have been answered. (The prayers were on colored pieces of paper, which were displayed on our altar.)
