Food Pantry needs your donations of food and water

With hot weather just around the corner, St. George's Food Pantry will need cases of water for our clients.

We also badly need your help in maintaining the food stock of the Pantry. The food items with which we are immediately seeking donations are:

  • apple sauce, 4 oz cup;
  • stewed tomatoes, 16 oz can;
  • pork and beans,16 oz can;
  • tuna, 6 oz can;
  • Vienna sausage, 6 oz can;
  • chili, 16 oz can; and
  • Capri sun fruit drinks, packs of 10 servings.

We will adjust this list as our stock levels change.

The Food Pantry requests that donations be made in the same or close to the size requested. It is wasteful to serve most of our clients servings larger than they can consume in one lunch or items inconsistent with the rest of the menu. Donations of overly large cans of vegetables or meats or boxes of cereal end up being given out as extra items to our clients or passed on to other organizations such as AFAC or Sullivan House, who may be able to make better use of them.

God bless you for your continued support of the Food Pantry in time, talent and treasure.
