St. George’s music groups

One Glorious Voice

One Glorious Voice, an ad hoc intergenerational choir, sings at the 9:00 AM service on Sundays. It provides support for hymns and service music and is open to anyone of reading age through adults. You can drop in when you’re available or be a regular. New this fall is an instrumental ensemble of strings and winds, open to anyone. This group will accompany the hymns.

Meeting:
Sundays, 8:30 AM for warm-up rehearsal in the church or parish hall

The Bells of St. George’s

St. George’s Handbell Choir is sporting logo-laden t-shirts designed by our own Jim Hammond. If you want to enhance your wardrobe and have a basic knowledge of rhythm and pitch, become a ringer. If you can count, you can ring handbells. Come join the fun.

Meeting time:
Thursdays, 6:30-7:40 PM, Church, beginning September

St. Cecelia Choir

The St. Cecilia’s Choir, which sings at the 11:15 AM services on Sundays, especially needs tenors, so if you’ve been keeping your voice to yourself, hold back no longer. If you can match pitch and are dedicated to glorifying God through challenging and uplifting choral music, St. Cecilia’s is waiting for you.

Meeting:
Thursday, 7:45-9:15 PM, Choir Room

St. George’s Angels

The St. George’s Angels choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings after sharing a tasty meal of pizza or spaghetti. The choir—open to children ages 8-12—will sing on occasion at the 11:15 AM service. There is a cost of $2 per child for the pizza.

Meeting:
Tuesday, 6:15-6:45 PM (light dinner) 6:45-7:30 PM (rehearsal), Choir Room

St. George’s Junior Choir

The Half-notes

In September 2007 we will be starting a children’s choir named The Half-notes for children ages three through six, led by Patty Lundquist and Rebecca Hill. This choir will meet for 30 minutes on Tuesdays nights at the same time as the St. George’s Angels (6:30-7:15 PM on Tuesdays). There is a cost of $2 per child for the pizza. We’ll do some vocalizing, sing songs and play some musical games. The group will sing in church a few times during the year.

Meeting:
Tuesday, 6:15-6:45 PM (light dinner) 6:45-7:30 PM (rehearsal), Choir Room

Sunday School singers

Our Sunday School Singers provides a musical interlude for the young (ages 2-7) between the end of the 9:00 AM service and the beginning of Sunday School. Bring your child and join the fun with Patty Lundquist.

Meeting:
Sundays, 9:50-10:10 AM, Room 212

Why I like being in
St. George’s
Angels

Photograph of Grace HauckI like being in St. George’s Angels because I like singing. It is fun to stand up in front of the church and sing. I also like Dr. Tavernier, the choir director. She is nice and she teaches us a lot about music. I also like the other kids in the choir. They are friendly and funny. That is why I like Junior Choir.
