December 14th: Rest

Submission by Carol Sparhawk

Much of the work of Christmas, for adults and parents, is tedious:  putting lights on trees and getting them evenly spaced; mailing packages; deciding what to give to people, addressing Christmas cards; always feeling that you should remember this person or that person, that you should do a little more.  It’s exhausting.

But, on that errand to the post office, we enjoy the colorful displays in stores; hear virtual concerts online; receive our first Christmas card; or see the local fire department putting on a show for Santa’s visit to children.  Every day another little present from heaven floats down to make our holiday more meaningful.

He will provide relief to you who are sorely tired, as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels (2 Thessalonians 1:7)
