Choral Evensong returns.
October 5, 4:00 pm. Choral Evensong offered in memory of John Johnson. Choral Evensong is a service filled with beautiful music, prayers, and scripture that marks the day’s end. This service of Choral Evensong features music centered in the African-American story and is offered in memory of John Johnson, friend of Saint George’s. We are delighted to welcome Kelly Navies, Museum Specialist at the National Museum of African American History and Culture, and Marty Nau, saxophonist, as we honor the stories of John Johnson and seek to build Beloved Community in this place. The organ prelude begins at 3:45 pm featuring Brenda Portman’s Psalm Sonata No. 2 written in celebration of Juneteenth. A reception follows the service in the Parish Hall.
