Live Streaming Worship

“May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us” (Psalm 67:1)

For a little over a year, a wee little virus has caused us to worship in a new way. In this time, we’ve become closer as a parish, we’ve welcomed new friends, we’ve done many new things, and we have grown mightily in God’s love. And now, with our phase 2 nave renovations complete, new Covid guidance and research, and recent permission from our diocese to begin limited inside, in-person worship, we find ourselves in a new transition. One that builds on where we have been and is filled with much hope and excitement for the future.

Beginning this Sunday you will notice our online worship looks somewhat different than it has the past year. Over the next few weeks we will be transitioning to a true live-stream of our service. Instead of collecting individual service parts in preceding weeks and creating a “worship video” in my basement, our complete worship service will take place in our nave at the same time and we will have limited live music rendered in accordance with the most recent guidance for doing so safely. In May, we will be able to welcome a limited number of people inside for worship. What a wonderful thing to look forward to! And, even more wonderful is that we all can know that those of us gathered at home and in the nave will be able to worship together at the same time. (And, don’t worry if you need to worship later in the day, our services will still be available afterwards.)

I recently told the choir that in many respects beginning the transition out of Covidtide (hopefully) is much more difficult than being thrust into it. And so we ask for your grace, patience and prayers as we work out the kinks, refine our skills and navigate these waters of opportunity.

These are exciting times in our parish for many reasons and I’m so grateful we are all in ministry together doing the work of the Gospel and growing in God’s all-embracing love each day.

Soli deo Gloria!

Ben Keseley, Minister of Music
